General questions about orders and communication

How can I pay for my order?

You can pay for your order by:

  • TWINT
  • PostFinance E-Finance
  • PostFinance Card
  • Visa debit/credit card
  • Mastercard debit/credit card
  • Paypal
  • Google Pay

You can find more information about payments in the Payment and Shipping policy page.

Where do you ship?

Swiss Crochet ships to Switzerland, Liechtenstein and internationally. The shipping methods and fees vary according to the delivery destination.

You can find detailed information on the available shipping options on the Payment and Shipping policy page.

Can I reserve items?

It is not possible to reserve items.

However, it is possible to purchase items and delay their shipment (for example if you are on holiday, moving between houses or otherwise not currently present at the delivery location). If this is something you would like to have, then please leave a comment at the checkout, or send me an email at info@swisscrochet.ch.

Can I return items that I purchased?

Yes, you can return items you have purchased. Certain conditions apply.

You can find detailed information regarding returns on the Returns and Refunds page.

When I order yarns online, will all the skeins I receive be from the same dye lot?

Yes, by default, all skeins delivered will be of the same dye lot.

In case there are not enough skeins of the same dye lot in stock, I will notify you via email (and if urgent, via SMS) about the available options, to make a decision before the order is brought to the post office. I will use the email address and phone number provided with the order for such communication.

How will I get notified about my order?

When you complete an order on the website, an order confirmation email is automatically sent to you. When the order is prepared and shipped, you will then receive an email with the tracking code and a link to the Swiss Post tracking page. Other order updates will also be communicated via a generated email.

In certain cases, I might need to contact you, to ask you questions regarding your order or to inform you of unexpected changes. In such cases, I will notify you via email (and if urgent, via SMS).

I will use the email address and phone number provided with the order for such communication.

Communication is only taking place written, to make it possible to converse in all four website languages (EN, DE, FR, IT). I myself can speak English and German, but need external help for French and Italian.

What language can I use, when I communicate with Swiss Crochet?

It is my goal to make information about crochet as accessible as possible, that’s why I made the decision to build Swiss Crochet with a website that supports four languages: English, German, French and Italian.

You are free to use any of the four languages (English, German, French, Italian) when communicating with Swiss Crochet.

For English and German, you will receive replies in “my own words”. (Swiss German is also understood!)

For French and Italian, languages that I cannot speak, I will be using translation tools to read and reply to messages. Please keep that in mind, because it is likely that some words and phrases may appear funny and I have no way of recognizing that myself.

This is also the reason why written communication is preferred over oral communication. Emails are the main communication method. SMS is used only in timewise urgent cases.

Are gift cards available?

Yes, gift cards are available in the individual amounts from 25CHF to 200CHF and can be purchased directly on the website.

You can find all available gift cards in the shop.

How do I redeem a gift card?

A gift card is essentially comprised of a unique coupon code.

You can enter this coupon code in two places:

  • either in a dedicated field either on the bottom of the cart page,
  • or via a link at the top of the checkout page.

After you enter the code, the system will notify you if the coupon code is valid and if it has been applied successfully.

Please note: coupons can be used only once. So make sure you use up the entire amount of the coupon in one purchase.

General questions about courses and events

How can I book a crochet course?

You can make a course reservation directly on the website, by purchasing a course. Course reservation via email is not possible.

Group courses are usually planned in advance and have specific topic and fixed dates. If you wish to organise a group course for yourself and your friends/family, association, club, school or community, then send me an email at info@swisscrochet.ch to discuss options.

A course with at least 3 participants is considered a group course.

Private courses are usually booked for individuals and have no predescribed topic. The date and time for a private course can vary and are subject to availability. The date and time are decided in communication with the course participant. Communication is taking place via email.

Before booking a course, make sure you read and understand the Course Policy as stated in the Terms and Conditions.

You can find all of the available group and private courses on the Courses page.

Where are the courses taking place?

All group and private courses take place in my office, unless otherwise specified in the course description.

You can find all of the available group and private courses on the Courses page.

Where can I find information about events?

The best way to stay informed about current and upcoming events, is to subscribe to the newsletter. This way you will certainly not miss any update.

Another way is to periodically check the Events page.

Are the crochet meetups free?

Yes, attending crochet meetups is free, there is no attendance fee.

When a crochet meetup is organised at cafe/bar, then it is expected to order a drink or snack from the establishment providing space and facilities for the event.

You can find the current crochet meetups at the Events page.

Do I have to book a spot for a crochet meetup?

You do not have to book a spot or apply to attend a crochet meetup, but a quick message to confirm that you are coming is always welcome.

You can find the current crochet meetups at the Events page.

Can I ask questions about my project during a crochet meetup?

A crochet meetup is an opportunity for like-minded crocheters to get together, relax and enjoy crocheting.

A crochet meetup is not a free course and no participant is obliged to make lengthy explanations, teach techniques (step-by-step), clarify misunderstandings, etc. Exchange of ideas, inspiration and experience is more than welcome.

You can ask questions about your project as long as they are simple and quick to answer/explain. A simple question is one that can be answered within 5 minutes.

How do you know if your question is simple enough? If you are a beginner, it will be hard to judge that. Ask other participants politely and be respectful of the time and energy they provide for answering your question.

If you realize that you need further help with your project, then please book Hook-SOS for a 1:1 consultation. Hook-SOS is available to book for 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes. It can take place directly after a meetup, or at some other date and time.
